We also believe that with the maturation of Software as a Service and Cloud Computing technologies, your business can run without the need for expensive, dedicated servers, large IT staffs or the CTO who you can't understand.
Our Founder
Mercatus3 was founded in 2005 by David Dean. David believes that the continued evolution of technology and the Internet will ultimately lead us to a place where corporate server rooms and large internal development teams will become a thing of the past. Just as television addresses entertainment needs through the touch of a few buttons, your business needs will be met just as quickly. Business needs changing? These changing requirements will be addressed as quickly as changing a channel. All in a secure, reliable environment.
While completely acheiving this vision is still some years away, our goal at Mercatus3 is to help business use today's proven technology to benefit now.
Prior to founding Mercatus3, David Dean was Senior Vice President, Engineering for Weight Watchers International, where he oversaw development of customer and field facing applications including weightwatchers.com. Before joining Weight Watchers, Mr. Dean was SVP, Operations and Technology for Modem Media, Inc., where he led multi-disciplined teams in the delivery of interactive and measured marketing solutions. David worked directly on several of Modem Media's largest and longest client relationships. He managed a team of 25 project managers who were responsible for the delivery of the bulk of Modem Media's client assignments. David was also the leader of Modem's headquarters technology department, which implemented both web site and distributed advertising solutions.
David brings a breadth of experience across industries and technology platforms. He built his career, first with Xerox Corporation and then with A.T. Kearney and Braun Consulting, helping Fortune 50 companies evolve their I/T platforms into customer focused, market-driven systems.
Throughout his career, David has successfully delivered large and complex marketing and technology Initiatives. For Weight Watchers, David oversaw the rollout of a custom Point of Sale system used by over 10,000 Weight Watchers service providers. While at Modem Media, David helped Philips Electronics launch the world’s first global implementation of ATG Dynamo 5. He worked with Delta Air Lines to evolve their award winning e-commerce site, and he guided the development of Kraft’s CRM platform, the Interactive Kitchen.
Beyond his expertise in marketing technologies, David is known for his passionate commitment to developing the talent and capabilities of his team. David is an inspirational leader who has rallied his team behind a single focus – flawless execution.
David received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Rhode Island in 1989. He is a PMP® certified project manager and is an active member of the Project Management Institute.
